PROVO, Utah, September 4, 2009 – SirsiDynix®, the global leader in library technology solutions, announces 34 more libraries have selected SirsiDynix Symphony®, for their integrated library system (ILS). The list of libraries includes academic libraries, public libraries, special libraries, and school libraries that serve unique communities across the globe.

“Since its release in late 2007, Symphony has been selected by libraries in a variety of markets because SirsiDynix is committed to delivering robust solutions to respond to the demands of the largest libraries in the world, yet easily adaptable to fit the needs of libraries of all sizes and all user needs,” said Paul Moxon, vice president of product management for SirsiDynix. “30 years of experience delivering library solutions, combined with Symphony’s open architecture design, provides libraries enterprising technology for whatever their individual needs could be.”

The Yavapai Library Network, a 42-member multi-type library consortium, selected Symphony in July. The consortium selected Symphony for many reasons, including total cost of ownership and their past experiences with SirsiDynix.

“After an extensive evaluation process, Symphony was the natural choice compared to other solutions when we looked at our needs,” said Corey Christians, library network manager for Yavapai Library Network. “We assessed demos for a variety of solutions and visited other consortiums with Symphony installations. SirsiDynix’s record has been exemplary since we began working with them during our Dynix Classic implementation in 1993. The cost of Symphony was competitive, especially considering the value of SirsiDynix maintenance and support programs.

“Selecting Symphony was an easy decision. For us, it was about the total value the solution brings to our 42 libraries,” said Christians.

Other libraries that recently selected Symphony include:
