PROVO, UTAH (October 13, 2011) – SirsiDynix, the world’s leading provider of library technology solutions, welcomes Ranny Lacanienta as the company’s director of product management. Lacanienta will oversee the company’s integrated library system (ILS) product strategy in this new capacity. As a native of the library industry, Lacanienta brings more than 20 years’ experience at the Brigham Young University Harold B. Lee Library to SirsiDynix.

Lacanienta has been an active contributor to the library community and the SirsiDynix community since the BYU Library selected SirsiDynix for its ILS technology in 1998. With his background in computers and extensive experience in libraries, Lacanienta has produced a number of innovations that assist libraries in their day-to-day operations, making processes seamless and more efficient.

Lacanienta has been active as a presenter and innovator in the industry and served as an executive board member of the Utah Library Association for a number of years. He received his master’s in library and information science (MLIS) from Syracuse University and his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brigham Young University.
